WHAT IS AN ENERGY AUDIT?

Energy audits identify areas of waste and RECOMMEND ENERGY CONSERVATION MEASURES AND RETROFITS.

Audits provide owners with a "ROADMAP" for achieving energy savings.

Audits are conducted by a Certified specialist.

Our goal is to identify savings that pay for an audit and suggested retrofits in three years or less.

THE ENERGY AUDITING PROCESS:

We offer two types of energy audits:

A VISUAL INSPECTION AUDIT looks at the home's interior and exterior, heating & cooling systems, insulation, potential health and safety issues, and baseload energy uses. The homeowner receives a list of applicable energy saving measures and resources. The audit requires two to three hours on site.

A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AUDIT enhances a visual inspection.. Measurement instruments provide information about building air leakage and combustion efficiency. The most common diagnostic tests are:  This audit requires four to five hours on site.

A detailed written report is provided.
  • Blower door testing: evaluates the air-tightness of a home.
  • Duct air-tightness testing: locates duct air leakage.
  • Combustion safety and efficiency testing: samples combustion by-products to evaluate safety and efficiency of gas fired appliances.
  • Infrared scanning (Thermal Imaging): evaluates differences in the temperature of building components inside building cavities and helps to isolate major heat gains or loss points in the building structure.
COST:

A VISUAL INSPECTION AUDIT costs $195.00 for homes of less than 3000 square feet and $225.00 for homes greater than 3000 square feet.  A sales tax of 9% will be applied.
